About Us

Queenstown House is an iconic Queenstown property which has evolved from a private family home to a luxury Bed and Breakfast accommodation provider.

A short walk to the heart of Queenstown, with views over the township, Lake Wakatipu and over to Walter Peak Station. Queenstown House has welcomed guests for over 40 years.  With a collection of different rooms all styled with the focus on comfort and luxury, the property has something for everyone from 3-bedroom apartments with sweeping views and fireplaces to our more intimate luxury king rooms in the main house.  Famous for our extensive breakfast and the not to miss evening canapes (subject to change), giving our guests the opportunity to experience home hospitality and enjoy the company of our hosts and fellow travellers.

The property changed hands in 2017 and continues to offer a unique hospitality experience to our local and international guests.  We have recently added No. 6 Lake Esplanade to our portfolio and are thrilled to now offer our guests Queenstown House Lakeside Luxury Apartments. The Queenstown House team comes from all around the world with a wealth of hospitality and life experience.

Samantha Johnson and Paul Mabee our General Managers between them have travelled the world and managed boutique resorts, private islands, small cruise ships and ski chalets in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.  They enjoy everything that Queenstown has to offer from the amazing hikes and walks, cycling, skiing and the world class food and wine offerings.

Oliver Southwall comes to us from the far north of New Zealand and takes pride in offering our guests the best of local produce when preparing breakfast and canapés.  Surfing, skiing, hiking and a passion for local produce is his thing.

Marianne Whorskey – Marianne has over 20 years’ experience in Queenstown and there is not much she does not know about Queenstown.  She looks after all things reservations and can help you create your ideal trip to Queenstown with extensive locals’ knowledge of everything (and then some) that you can do, see, eat and drink.

Steffano Fioretto – Steffano is from Peru and has been with us at Queenstown House for over a year.  He does a bit of everything from gardening, maintenance, housekeeping and assisting in the kitchen and front of house.  He is passionate about cycling and snowboarding so speak to him for some great local knowledge about the runs on two wheels and off.
